A couple weeks back I bought a bit of kit to record conversations with people. And, in the name of learning how to use said kit, I’m starting to make relatively brief podcasts.

This is my first effort. The audio is all over the place, I know. And, yes, you can literally hear the metaphorical duct tape here and there. But I do love talking to people, and I’m glad I had this chat with a couple of surprisingly articulate counter jockeys at a local video game store here in Vancouver. Click the pizza slice-shaped button up above and give it a listen.

Once you’re finished, let me know what you think.

Also, FYI, I edited this on GarageBand. I’ll try Audacity next, see how that goes. I’ll be posting more of these conversations in the coming days. So, stay tuned.

Thanks for listening. And thanks for coming to my site. I couldn’t do this without you.

You’re the best.

Your friend,

Scott

  1. Nice to hear your voice in podcast form again! I’ll definitely keep checking the site for more. Hope all is well!

  2. This is a great idea. You should do a lot more of these. I like the extra little production touches too.

  3. I think the structure and format are all there. I was waiting for the froth to be kicked up though – why should people listen to this? What’s the real hook to it? It’s missing something that pushes it to a place that makes it truly interesting. Not that you won’t be able to find that – I’m sure you will. You have a unique take on the world, but I don’t know if you translated it this time. All the more reason to keep doing it. Thanks for all the shares Scott.

    1. I agree. It all feels a little unformed/inchoate still. I’m trying to cook something here. What exactly…I’m not a 100-percent sure yet. More froth soon–I promise.

  4. You know, I just want to thank you graciously for all of the great suggestions over the years. If not for you, I might never have heard of AMAZING games such as Vanquish, Bayonetta and Bloodborne. I already miss ROTR, as I watched it daily for a long time. The way you and Vic bantered back and forth was a nice contrast of “love everything” vs “super critical”. I’ll leave it to you to figure out who is who, lol.
Thanks again, Scott! It’s great to see that you’re still involved in the videogame media market in some capacity. Like everyone else here, I eagerly look forward to more podcast episodes and whatever else you end up doing.
And please don’t be afraid to keep the suggestions coming, too… I like your style, kid.

    1. Ah. You’re sweet to say those things. Not sure what the future holds for me, but a comment like this makes me very eager to find out. Thanks again.
